Ivan Kanel is an academic, public accountant, tax consultant, business consultant, auditor, legal practitioner, and corporate governance expert with over 25 years of professional experience. Throughout his career, he has been involved in various fields, including accounting, auditing, taxation, risk management, law, business advisory, corporate governance, and business development and investment. With a strong combination of academic background, extensive practical experience, and various national and international professional certifications, Ivan is known as a multidisciplinary professional actively contributing to the development of professions and the business world, both nationally and internationally.

Ivan's commitment to education and competency development is reflected in his continuous academic journey. Currently, he is pursuing a Doctoral Program in Accounting at Hasanuddin University and a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) at Golden Gate University, USA. In addition, he is also taking the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) program as part of global professional competency development. Previously, Ivan completed his Bachelor of Accounting at Tarumanagara University, Master of Financial Management at Tarumanagara University, Accounting Professional Education (PPAk) at Tarumanagara University, Master of Accounting at Tarumanagara University, Master of Business Administration (MBA) at Calwest University, and Bachelor of Law at Maranatha Christian University. He also participated in various international professional certification programs through the Academy of Finance and Management Australia, Metropolitan School of Business and Management UK, and International Business Management Institute.

As a professional, Ivan holds various prestigious certifications reflecting his competence in accounting, auditing, taxation, finance, risk management, corporate governance, fraud investigation, human resources, and business management. Some of them are Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA), State Registered Accountant (Ak.), Certified Tax Consultant (BKP) Level C, Certified Management Accountant (CMA), ASEAN Chartered Professional Accountant (ASEAN CPA), Certified Financial Investigator (CFI), Certified Financial Modeller (CFM), Certified Enterprise Risk Analyst (CERA), Certified Risk Management Analyst (CRMA), Certified Professional Fraud Investigator (CPFI), Certified Corporate Fraud Examiner (CCFE), and dozens of other professional certifications that support his multidisciplinary competence.

Ivan's career journey began in 2002 as a Finance Accounting Officer at PT Ultra Kemas Langgeng Bersama. In the same year, he joined KAP Siddharta Siddharta dan Widjaja (KPMG) as a Supervisor Auditor and developed his professional expertise for four years in auditing and professional services. This experience became a strong foundation for his career development in various companies and organizations.

Subsequently, Ivan was entrusted with various strategic positions in national companies, including Reporting and Analyst Department Head of PT Indomobil Trada Nasional, Accounting, Tax and Cost Control Manager of PT HD Finance Jakarta, and Accounting and Tax Manager of PT Metropolis Propertindo Utama. These positions enriched his experience in financial management, taxation, internal control, business analysis, and corporate governance.

In the professional world, Ivan is active in building and developing various professional service organizations engaged in auditing, consulting, law, taxation, and business advisory. Currently, he serves as Managing Partner of KAP Kanel and Partner, a member of the PrimeGlobal international network. He also serves as Partner of SK and Co (a member of Hall Chadwick), Partner of Hall Chadwick, Partner of Indonesia Global Law Firm, Partner of Sustainability Assurance BATS International, and Partner of LSAF Global Singapore.

In addition, Ivan serves as Director of PT Analis Advis Indonesia, Director of PT Asia Global Investasi, Director of PT Prodigi Konsultan, and Co-Founder and Advisor of PT Magal Group Indonesia. In these various roles, he focuses on business development, corporate strategy, governance, compliance, risk management, and strengthening professional and international networks.

In the field of professional organizations, Ivan has a significant contribution to the development of accounting, auditing, and tax professions in Indonesia. Currently, he serves as Head of the Partnership Department of the Financial Sector and Financial Professions Supporting Professions Association (KAP2SKPK) at the Central Board of the Indonesian Tax Consultants Association (IKPI), Deputy Head of Accounting Services Firm Development at the Indonesian Institute of Accountants (IAI KAKJA), and Member of the Taxation Committee of the Indonesian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (IAPI). Previously, Ivan was also active in various professional organization boards, including as a Member of the DKI Jakarta Regional Coordinator of IAI KAKJA, Member of the Quality Department of IAI KAKJA, Member of International Business and Networking of IAI KAKJA, and Head of the Internal Audit Department of IKPI.

In the academic field, Ivan is known as a lecturer and speaker who actively shares practical experience with students and practitioners. Currently, he teaches at Tarumanagara University in auditing and taxation, serves as a Visiting Lecturer at Pradita University, and as a Professional Trainer at Bank Mandiri University in Risk Management, Financial Statement Analysis, and Auditing. Previously, he has also been a lecturer at Trisakti School of Management and Universitas 17 Agustus.

Besides being active in education and professions, Ivan is also involved in corporate governance. Currently, he serves as an Audit Committee Member of PT Mangole Timber Producers (Sampoerna Kayoe). At the international level, he is trusted as an Independent Director, Chairman of the Audit Committee, and Member of the Remuneration and Nominating Committee at Pollux Properties Ltd., a company listed on the Singapore Exchange (SGX).

In the business sector, Ivan is actively involved as an investor, advisor, and business developer. Through PT Magal Group Indonesia, he acts as a shareholder and advisor in the development of the food and beverage (F and B) business network, which currently manages more than 55 outlets with over 20 brands originating from Indonesia, Thailand, China, South Korea, Japan, Vietnam, and Brazil.

Ivan is a member of various national and international professional organizations, including the Indonesian Tax Consultants Association (IKPI), Indonesian Institute of Accountants (IAI), Indonesian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (IAPI), Institute of Certified Management Accountants Indonesia (ICMA Indonesia), Indonesian Institute of Management Accountants (IAMI), Institute of Certified Management Accountants Australia (ICMA Australia), ASEAN Chartered Professional Accountant (ASEAN CPA), Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), and Chartered Accountants Worldwide (CAW).
